Calibration is an assurance that your testing results are correct, accurate and reliable.
Calibration is performed by comparing your testing results to another reference traceable Master Device.
The comparison can lead to one of the following:
The calibration reference / standard is traceable to a national / international standard held by a national metrology institution.
Calibration should be performed in the following cases:
As per most Standards, Calibration should be performed each year regardless of the above scenarios.
Every Reference Device is calibrated itself in internationally acclaimed institutions under strict monitoring standards where each Calibrated Reference Device is given a traceable unique international identification code.
The calibration reference / standard is traceable to a national / international standard held by a national metrology institution.
The class of a measurement device gives us the information about the device’s accuracy.
For example, if I am using a voltmeter with a capacity to measure voltages up to 700V and labelled “Class 1”, this indicates that the maximum error I might have while measuring voltage using this voltmeter is 7V.
For another voltmeter, labelled “Class 0.5”, the maximum error will be 3.5V.
So, the smaller the class number is, the more accurate the given results are. And of course, the more accurate the measuring device becomes.
Bright Industry offers Calibration starting Class 0.5 or above.
